Kimi ni Todoke : Sawako Kuronuma is a timid high-schooler who is often ignored by her peers due to her similarities to Sadako, the horror movie character from the movie The Ring. However, all this begins to change when fellow classmate Shoto Kazehaya begins to talk with her. Mustering the courage to talk to more people, she is befriended by classmates Yano and Yoshida, who convince her to come to attend a "test of courage" event with the rest of her peers, organized by none other than Kazehaya himself.
